So I'm doing pretty good out here. The members we live with out here had there granddaughter move in and she's our age. She has sleepovers with some of the young women in our ward, and it gets very awkward! Well, anyways here is the rundown of our week. Monday- Holiday so our pday is pushed to Tuesday. Crappy day to try to find work. My companion also rear ended someone.
Tuesday- Pday, and a sleep over/movie night at our house...
Wednesday- Zone conference most of the day, and switching off on exchanges with the zone leaders.
Thursday- Searching for apartments for us to move into cause the office really wants us out of where we live right now, and I completely agree. Also exchange back.
Friday- Looking for more apartments.
Saturday- Apartment hunting more.....
Haha I know it doesn't seem like much, but for me it's a lot. We did find a really nice apartment that is in like the center of our area, and we are just waiting on the office to get all the fun stuff taken care of and hopefully we move in this week.
Well, I can't really think of anything else to talk about, but thank you so much for writing. Thanks for all you do, I love and miss you guys, and I'll talk to you next week.

How are things going? I'm assuming that Mom has already moved in with you? If so how is that going? Is she having any luck finding a job and somewhere to live? Let her know that I got her package last week and it really meant a lot to me. Tell her that she's got some good taste at picking out ties. I don't even think she was the one who picked them haha. I'm doing good, we are coming off of a colder week. It's been in the 50's this week and rainy, but today seems like it'll be a warm day. I started a new workout this week and it's been kicking my butt lol... We have interviews with President Jones tomorrow which is always fun, and we have zone conference next week... Well, I don't know what else is new out here. It's fun as usual. I love and miss you guys and pray fr you always. Have a great week! Love, Elder Patterson

Mission Conference

I'm doing good out here still. If you didn't know, we had a full mission conference last Saturday, with five General Authorities present. We heard from Bishop Edgly from the presiding bishoprick, Elder Ward from the area seventy, Elder Ardern from the quarm of the seventy, Elder Hallstrom from the presidence of the seventy, and Elder Cook from the quarm of the twelve! It was such an amazing meeting to hear from all of them and afterward we got a full mission picture with them. Yesterday we had stake conference and heard from Elder Ward, and Elder Ardern again! It really was a unique experience to be in a meeting with five general authorities and it is something I'll never forget! The weather here has been pretty good, although we're supposed to have thunder storms all day and night, but I love thunder storms, it's so relaxing lol! Well, I'm doing good and it really was great to hear from you and thank you so much for everything that you do! I pray for you always and I'll talk to you again next week! I love you all!

It's good to hear from you! You should get mom into emailing so it would be easier for me! It's about time for her to learn. Well, I did get those cards for Hunter and Bowman. I thought they were both sweet! I liked Bowmans where he was on his stomach and his head was on his hands. Sounds like he's quite the chunker! I've been working on myself, and am down to 196! Basically all my weight went to my butt! I have quite the ghetto booty!!! But it's good now haha. Well, the best address to send to me right now is the 6830 Northstar ct. Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494! I'm so excited to get that package! I'm way excited for my year mark, has it really been a year??? It doesn't seem like it at all. My companion is freaking out more than me cause he's gonna hit his two year mark with me. He's going home in six weeks. He tells me about it every day haha! Anyways, this week we went to Stevens Point and got ice cream cones that were literally the size of my thighs!!! It was like a gallon of ice cream on a normal sized cone. I don't know how they did it, because it was totally against the law of physics! But I ate it all, and wanted to throw up, but I didn't. So in a way I completed the gallon challenge with ice cream haha. I got pics, but these computers don't have a card slot so I'll have to figure out how to get you some.
Well, it really was good to hear from you and tell everyone I say hi and I love and miss you guys. I'll talk to you next week!

I'm doing good back here and my new area is Wisconsin Rapids! It's a really pretty area, it reminds me of Pinetop or Payson because there are tons of Pine trees. Wisconsin Rapids is actually surrounded with paper mills so the air usually stinks pretty bad. My new companion is Elder Stevens and he's way sweet! He's going home in July so I'll probably be sending him home. Or as it's said in the Mission Field I'm killing him haha. He's from just outside of Salt Lake and he's a way cool kid! He and I are a lot alike. My year mark is actually June 16! That's the day I entered the MTC so that will be a big day when I hit that. I'm already freaking out because that's next month and I don't know where the time has gone. I just can't keep up.
What's funny is I got your email right as I opened up my email. Right when I opened it up it wasn't there and then the next second it popped up so Great timing!
Wisconsin Rapids really is a sweet area. It's about the center of Wisconsin. I met the ward and I gotta say, there are some very very strange people in this part of Wisconsin. It'll be an interesting little bit that I'm here cause I've already gotten some good laughs about some of the people here. It's a very small ward, almost a branch, but fun. This week has been crummy because it's been like in the 30's and 40's and rainy all week. We had a couple nice days in there.
So yesterday at Sacrament meeting, The first counselor of the bishopbrick shared his testimony first to start it all off ya know. After he finished he said "the time is now yours to come up and share your testimony except we would like to give Elder Patterson a special invitation to come up and share his testimony with all of us." It would have been funny if I went up there and said that I don't know why, but I felt a strong impression to come up here. It wasn't the Spirit, but I just heard a voice tell me to get up here.
Anyways, I'm doing great out here and having a lot of fun. Thanks for writing me and keep me updated on all that goes on. I love and miss you guys and I'll talk to you next week!

Hey how's it going? I just wanted to let you know that I'm being transferred on Wednesday morning and I don't know where I'm going yet. They do the where your going calls tomorrow morning which always sucks to wait for. I'll let you know though where I go and wish me luck with packing everything up and moving around. That's the worst part of moving is packing it all up! I'll talk to you later and thanks for everything!

I'm doing well out here. It snowed all day Saturday, so I'm just waiting for spring to come around and stay around. It seems to just be teasing us. It's about 45 today and cloudy so that's warmer than the other day. We have transfers next Wednesday the 27th just to let you know because I will most likely be transferred because I've been here for six months and it'd rare for a missionary to be in an area any longer than that. But we won't know for sure if I'm leaving until this Saturday the 23rd. I'll let you know though next Monday. It's always sad though when you reach the end of your time serving in an area ya know. It's gonna be extremely sad when my time is up over all and I'll have to come home. I hit my ten month mark though the other day and it's just crazy to think about coming up on my year mark. I was talking to the missionary that trained me Elder Hofmeister and he couldn't believe how long I've been out. He's been out 17 months today. I'm just making so much friends out here and that is one joy of facebook too, I can become friends with every friend I make out here and always keep in touch with how they're doing out here. One of our investigators set a baptismal date on her own this week. She called up bishop and met with him and set a date for May 22. We've been working with her for a long long time now and it's so exciting that she's finally made her decision. What stinks about that date though is that I'll probably be gone. But I'll have to make it back for the baptism.
Anyways, I'll let you go and hope you have a great week this week and tell everyone I said hi. Thanks again and I love and miss you guys so much and I'll talk to you again next week!

I'm doing good here in Kettle Moraine. My new companion is Elder Trusty and he seems to be a pretty trusty guy ha ha ha. I'm so funny! My last companion though got transferred up to Escanaba! I was so jealous because I loved serving in Esky, it's such an awesome area to be in! But so is Kettle Moraine. Although we did have kind of a slow week. We should have a much better week though this week I hope, oh and to top off my slow eek, I got a $90 ticket for going 35 in a 25!!! Sucks a bunch, but oh well. Other than that though, I'm doing great here. It's been warming up here and all the snow is almost gone, but it's supposed to snow again on Wednesday haha. What's crazy is that I've been in this area for 4 1/2 months which means I might be getting transferred in five weeks. You can never guess that though, but we'll see.
Well I will let you go because we gotta go to the Stake Center in Milwaukee to play some ball:) I love and miss you guys and hope you have a great week! Talk to you later.

Monday, March 14, 2011

Well, I'm doing good here. I'm not being transferred on Wednesday, but my companion that's been here for six weeks is. President Jones called me up on Saturday saying that I'm getting a new missionary but I don't think that means I'm training because the only missionaries coming out are Hmong and Spanish speaking, but I did hear that there is a missionary coming from Germany, because he was having visa problems and so they're sending him here. I'll have to let you know though who I do get next week. That does pose a problem though, all of my companions have had a GPS because it's nearly impossible to get around Wisconsin without one. Now my companion isn't gonna have one and I don't know what I'm gonna do because they cost like a hundred buck and I don't have that kind of money. I told Dane about this problem too, and I told him that if you guys could help, I would need it ASAP because after Wednesday, I don't know what I'm gonna do! I know this is probably bad timing and all with you almost there with having your baby and all. Thank you so much though for everything and please keep me updated with everything. I'll have to talk to you next week! Love you and thanks again!

Pictures

How's everything going? Have you had your baby yet? If not it's coming up right? Are you excited or not?
I'm doing good as you can see I attached some pics to this email because I keep forgetting to get another disc for you from wal mart but I'll do that soon. I set up a profile on mormon.org and I used that pic that you took of me before I left. You should go to mormon.org and see if you can find my profile and check it out. You should even start one, it's sweet. Well not much else is new here. It was a pretty warm week and all the snow melted but then it got cold again and it snowed all day yesterday. Well I can't think of anything else to write so I'll talk to you later. Bye!

Hello, Thanks for the updates on Calvin I'm happy to hear that he's doing so well now. I was kinda worried at the beginning of your email but now I'm relieved but not because I farted haha.
I'm so excited that I get a whole 33 bucks back. For a missionary that's a lot of money so I'm just pumped haha. We had a crazy crazy blizzard the other day and we got about 14 to 15 inches of snow from that but just a little south of us they got 26 inches so we got lucky here. My comp got transferred and I got a new one. His name is Elder Alleman and he's from Idaho and he's been out for about six months now. He's really shy and quiet, in combined priesthood meeting yesterday the Bishop asked him to stand up and introduce himself and he got up and waved at everyone and sat back down without even saying a word, it was hilarious.
Now I know you hate sports, But The GREEN BAY PACKERS won the Super Bowl last night and everyone here is going nuts. We were told by our mission president that we were supposed to be indoors by 4 yesterday because of it. Every time they play, we are not allowed to tract because everyone gets drunk and it's just so dangerous to knock on doors. I'm so so glad that they won though and now I'm a packers fan. Dane even said that Calvin is the youngest packers fan because they all watched the game together.
Well that's what's new from my neck of the woods, and I'm so glad to hear that you guys are all doing so well. Pretty soon I'll be checking my emails and find that you had your baby too. Just a few weeks away. Anyways I'll talk to you later, bye.

Haha that's funny! For me 20 s not that bad at all. And I did hear that Alaska was pretty warm. That's pretty crazy though. The pink drink is awesome like always. I'm getting pretty good at making it too. I can't believe that both you and Carli are gonna be having a baby. I'm just missing a lot so I want tons of pictures!
I'm doing good here. Those hand warmers are awesome and keeping me warm when we tract. It was kind of a slower week so there's not really anything new here but more snow. It's always good to hear from you. Oh I'll tell you what's new!!!!! THE PACKERS WON YESTERDAY!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!! Well haha I'll talk to you later.

How are things going back there? Is it still warm? I heard Phoenix reached 20 the other day? Were you guys just dying? Are the boys back in school today?
I'm doing good here. We had a couple warm days last week which was weird but that's not the case anymore. It reached 51 last week and melted all the snow but the next day it was about 10. It was strange but that's Wisconsin I guess. How was your New Years. I heard they legalized fireworks so I bet Brian had a blast!? Anyways I'll talk to you guys later. Bye
